The Spyder series of bikes
was the Sears response to the popular Schwinn Stingray line. I got mine in 1970 and rode it until puberty intervened in 1974. I sold it to a Flaming Asshole Who Shall Remain Nameless (O.K.- It was Marty Gardner) for 20 bucks. Marty, I'm sorry to say, got a deal. The purple Spyder pictured here was identical to mine and recently sold for over $300 bucks on E-Bay. Too rich for my blood, but I was happy to see such a nice specimen still exists. |
This blue Spyder is a
beauty! It epitomizes the "Muscle Bike" of the 70's.Check out the chrome chain "steering wheel". All this bike needs is a Sissy Bar to be completely over-the- top. I love this thing! As cool as these looked, the Shift Lever on the center bar made for a cautious rider. |
