..::Lucy::..

When Lucy came to me, she had been very badly neglected. She had been cleaned up by a breeder friend, but she was very scared and had also been with several boars before she was taken away. Needless to say she was pregnant. After only having her 5 weeks, Lucy gave birth to three babies, two of which didn't survive. Hillary was the only survivor, and has remained with us ever since.

Lucy was a shy sow, but loved cuddles very much. She loved snuggling under your chin and wheeking gently as you stroked her. She was the most accommodating personality - if there was a problem between two pigs you could always count on Lucy to accept them both and bring them together. She was a fantastic Nanny, when I had a litter she would always look after the babies when their mother needed a break. Lucy was a truly incredible sow that will be very sorely missed.

Lucy had to be put to sleep due to congestive heart failure. Her breathing was labored and I could see she was suffering. I took her for her final vet appointment, and being the brave little thing she was she accepted the injection with no fuss. Lucy was a very, very special girl. I will miss her forever.
