Night Shield Presents - Hostile Takeover
Reviewed By: Blutarski
- The intro track. It starts out with some clips from movies and then Night Shield comes with a tight little flow. D-Sane
laces up the track with some tight production. A coo little track, wish it would of been a bit longer.
- By far the best track on the album. The production by Mobius and Overflow is just so tight!!!!! The beat gets your
head moving and Night Shield, Overflow and Cinatra come tight as can be. This track knoccs from start to finish. I'm
feeling it to the fullest. Knoccin!!!!!
- Syko and Sarkastik come with some tight lyrics on this one. D-Sane laces up the track with clean production. Ever
since hearing Syko on Sykotherepy I've been a fan of Street Level Records. This album is sweet. Sarkastik and Syko
rip up the mic and the beat gives a nice dark feel. I'm feeling it.
- Overflow comes with those sweet hip-hop style flows. The beat by Mobius and Overflow is clean and works well
with the flows. I like the hook the most, but both flows by Overflow and Dev'Yon are clean. A tight track from start to
finish, can't say anything more.
- The instruments in the background are good, but I don't think they work well with the beat too much. A nice flow of
hip-hop styled lyracists. The beat isn't all that great, but it works for this track. Nothing really special, but it's a solid
track from start to finish.
- The production by Mobius is clean. The beat is perfect and I like the background effects. Ashes starts the track off
with a tight verse. Mobius has a bit of a harder style than Ashes, but they work together well. The beat gets your head
into it and the production is sweet. A tight track overall.
- The vocals by Shayla Day make this track sounds a bit like an R&B track, but it's a good mix of R&B from Shayla
and hip-hop from Night Shield. They work well together. I'm feeling this track, although it's not really my style. I do
like the production a lot by Overflow. A coo track overall.
- After hearing this song I'm really getting interested in Overflow's mic and production skills. Although he doesn't
produce this track I do like his lyrics and style of flow. FloWright laces up the beat which works with this slower
paced track. The hook has some nice vocals on them and I like Overflow's style. A good track overall.
- Mr. D.O.G. has a kinda weird voice, but once you can get past that his music is pretty good. Big Squeeze laces him
up with some nice production. Mr. D.O.G.'s voice can be too much for some people, but after hearing one of his
albums I learned to like him. A good track overall, although it's a bit weird.
- Another knoccin ass track from Triple Crown. The three of them fit together really well. All their styles click together
just right. The beat by Overflow and Silver Shadow D is tight! I like the nice medium pace to this track as the flows fit
in perfectly. Not as good as the first Triple Crown track, but still a good track overall.
- Phranchise is weak in my opinion. I don't like their flow or style at all. Cool Nutz makes them look like an amatuer on
this track. Mack Mahd is on the production, which isn't all that great. Not a very good track at all, except for Cool
Nutz's verse. I'll probably pass this one up every time.
- A nice R&B feel to this track. I like Arjay's soft vocals, but Bullet doesn't fit in on this track at all. I really like this
track until Bullet's verse. His voice just doesn't fit in with a track like this. Still a nice soft R&B track, a nice change
from the hip-hop tracks.
- D-Sane laces up this track with some knoccin ass production. Night Shield starts it off with a tight verse. 2 8 The
Native and Yaiva have tight verses as well. The track knoccs and there are good flows, can't ask for more. A tight
track overall.
- Sarkastik has a very unique style to his flow. His voice is really deep and rough, but it works for me. D-Sane and
Funk Daddy do the beat and production, which is pretty good. With the good production Sarkastik has some nice
verses on this one. I'm feeling it.
- I like the production by Mobius and Overflow and I like the verses by Triple Crown and DJ S-sense, but I don't think
they fit together all that well. I like both of them, but I think they would work best away from each other. It's a coo
track, but it might have worked better with either a different beat, or a different verses.
- JB Tha Blazed 1 laces up this track with some sweet production. It has more of an R&B feel to it with the production,
but 2 8 The Native has those tight hip-hop flows. Ri Ri has those sweet vocals on the hook and in the background. It's
a sweet mix of R&B and hip-hop. I'm feeling it.
- SupaMan starts it off with a coo little flow. He also laces up some nice production. I like his flow more than Night
Shield, but both come tight. I like all the little movie clips on the track. It's a coo track overall, I'm feeling it.
- *Bonus Track* Silver Shadow D has a very weird voice, but it's cool. R.C. Croone does the production and gives
this track a mix of R&B and reggea. I like the mix of music styles all tied together with the clean lyrics of Silver
Shadow D. A good track overall.
Overall this compilation is much better than Night Shield's first one, "The Nation." There is a great mix of R&B, hip-hop
and even some reggea. I like all the artists who appear on the comp and a majority of the tracks are knoccin with good
production. It's really a good compilation from start to finish. Check it out, you won't be dissapointed.
