Suga Free - Street Gospel

- Just putting his pimp shit down.
- A funky DJ Quik track that Suga Free is throwin down his pimp game. The production is good, one of the sounds in
the background sounds to me like heartz of men that Quik produced for 2Pac. Good track.
- Talkin about how he would rather give his bitch instead of the last of his weed. More funky production from Quik
who produced the whole album. Has kind of an Oriental feel to it, but so does the first song it sounds weird to read
that probably, but it works. Suga Free puts down his pimp game just like the whole album, which you can expect. I
love how he switches from slow and fast flows he is a very underrated rapper. Another good song.
- Production is slammin on this song! Has a nice laid back feel, good to get your smoke on to. He is talkin about going
to a party on this track. Good song. Best phrase on this song is, “Only reason why the baby wore panties is to keep
her ankles warm.” Good stuff.
- This song is alright. Suga Free puts down good verses, but the hook could have been done without. Suga Free puts it
down. The Production is solid just like pretty much the whole album. Someone else is on this song too, but they are
unlisted. He has an alright verse. I still don’t skip it, but the hook could have been better.
- This is probably my favorite song on the album. Everyone has solid verses on this song. More of the laid back
production from Quik and he has a slammin verse. Hi-C is on this song and he brings heat too. Just more pimp game
from all of them.
- I usually skip this song. It sounds like they are at a table and freestylin to the beat of someone beating on a table. It’s
not too bad, but I skip it.
- This song isn’t that great. The verses are strong, but I’m not a fan of the hook. Playa Ham isn’t that impressive either.
Suga Free puts it down though and the production is good too. Not a bad song just isn't the best on the album.
- This song is a good song, the tempo is upbeat and Suga Free puts it down as usual. Someone else isn’t listed as a
guest, but has a good verse. I think it is Tony Lane, but I might be mistaken. Some more pimp shit.
- Another laid back track from Quik, but it works. It’s a song about a fight between Suga Free and his girl. I like it
cause some of the things Suga Free says are pretty funny. Good song.
- Upbeat song. Another gem from Quik. Suga Free doesn’t let me down either. Good song that I can’t get enough of.
He is talkin about some people who didn’t write him when he was in the pen and now act like they are best friends
when he gets out. He also touches on the people who talk about him behind his back and smile in his face. Good
song.
- This interlude is a lot like 7. It’s a beat made by slapping a table. I skip this one.
- Good song. It is more emotional, talkin to his mama about his dad and the situation they had called marriage and the
mess it was. He speaks on how his dad hit his mom and things like that and how when he is in the streets his mom
was stressed. A really good song and a switch to the more emotional slow song and Suga Free puts it down just
thanking his mom for everything she did for him and telling his fallen homies to rest in peace. Another good track from
Quik. You shouldn’t be disappointed with this one and hey even pimps and thugs cry.
- Just like track 6 just the hook and a guitar in the back. It’s a good ending to a great album. More of Quik’s magic
touch on the production.
Overall this is a great album and the only let down was the one or two songs, but other than that Suga Free puts it
down in a real way and so does DJ Quik. If you are a fan of DJ Quik or Suga Free this will not disappoint you at all.
It might even educate you on the pimp game so what harm can it do. Great album, go out and get it if you don’t
already have it. Support Suga Free he needs to put out more albums like this. 5/5.
