We continued south to Dugit, a community near Alei Sinai in the northern Gaza Strip. Dugit boasts 25 families, two restaurants, and a very popular beach. A little further east we stopped at Nisanit, home to 300 families. From there we could look across Beit Hanun and see S'derot, a community just outside the Gaza Strip, which we have visited in the past. This community of 2,500 people is the constant target of rockets and missiles fired by the Arabs in the Gaza Strip. Miraculously, there had been no fatalities up to the time of our trip, but in July 2004 the rockets claimed their first fatalities in S'derot, including a 3-year old boy. The picture you see here is not S'derot; it is the gymnasium and Yeshivah at Neve K'talim, another of the Jewish communities in the Gaza Strip.
