On Thursday, May 20, we began traveling south from Jerusalem through the hills of Judea, enjoying the terraced farming and the abundant fields of olive and almond trees. We passed camels and goats maneuvering amongst the rocks and sand. Our first stop was in Susya, a community of around 600 people about 9 miles south of Hebron. We were met by Yisrael Margolin, a transplanted American from Highland Park, New Jersey. He told us about their ambitious Yeshiva leadership training program. Shown here is the synagogue at Susya.
