We arrived at our last stop of the day in time to view the sunset at Elon Moreh, a Jewish community of 250 families east of Nablus (Shechem). Pinchas Fuchs, the tireless public relations director of the community, introduced us to a delightful resident, Menachem Brody. Menachem told us that he had been an organic farmer who lived in Maine until he came to Israel 26 years ago. He now has a beautiful home and farm in Elon Moreh. Although there are 160,000 unfriendly Arabs living in Shechem, right next door to them, Menachem feels very privileged to be living in the modern-day link to the biblical home of our patriarch Abraham. Shown here is one of the beautiful houses of Elon Moreh. And it's for sale if you're interested! |
