MADONNA (1983) A simple disco album with a few classics. Though generally dismissed by critics, it sold a huge 5 million copies in the U.S. alone! It spent over 160 weeks among the Billboard 200. A- THE IMMACULATE COLLECTION (1990) Madonna's timeless collection of '80s hits. Spending a whopping 141 weeks on the Billboard chart, and received rave reviews. Viva Madonna! A+ SOMETHING TO REMEMBER (1995) The ballads, ballads! This was released in 1995 just to fill the gap between albums, but it's fantastic, all right. Went triple platinum, peaking at #6, and spent 34 weeks on the charts. A- EVITA (1996) Contains a few fillers, but you'll still dig this soundtrack. B- RAY OF LIGHT (1998) Maddy's first true electronica album. It contains the magahits Frozen and Ray of Light, which are both excellent, and international single Drowned World (Sky Fits Heaven is the B-side). Also contains the #93 single Nothing Really Matters (her lowest peaking single ever. (Not counting Everybody's #107 peak in 1982 and the non-charting 1983 single Burning Up/Physical Attraction. "Ray" is a great album. A NOTHING REALLY MATRERS (MAXI-SINGLE, 1999) Maxi-single contains Club 69 remixes and some more. B MUSIC (2000) THE ulta-funky 2000 album. Contains the huge, Platinum, ultara, mega, worldwide chart-topper title track. Also has hip #4 Gold hit Don't Tell Me and Top 40 What It Feels Like for a Girl (peaked at #23). A WHAT IT FEELS LIKE FOR A GIRL (MAXI-SINGLE, 2001) Single to the Top 40 hit WIFLFAG. The Above and Beyond club mix is ultra-great. Very danceable, very good maxi-single. A- |
