All right... Let me explain what went on with this concert... I got two tickets for Christmas of 1997. The day the show comes into Dayton, Steven Tyler gets laryngitis. Show is postponed! The day of the show, too... I heard the news from Gary (whom you'll remember, went to the Cincy Van Halen show with me) rigth when I got home... He called, (and he even predicted
that I'd do this) and after I hung up, I went outside and screamed at the top of my lungs. No problem, right? All they did was POSTPONE the concert. But it would turn out to be for a LONG LONG TIME, bcause not only did Steven Tyler bust his knee, Joey Karamer got into a car accident, so the show was postponed once again. They finally got to Dayton almost a year after I got the tickets. Hell, it was so long, they wern't even supporting Nine Lives anymore!I must say that it was worth it, though! Damn! Even with a leg brace on, Steven was ALL OVER the stage! His stage presence is absolutely amazing... Joe Perry and Bad Whitford were at the top of their game... Tom Hamilton is a bass KING... And Joey Kramer... He proved himself to be a better drummer than I had previously thought him to be. (and I KNEW he was a damn good drummer). Well, I'll definitely be checking out Aerosmith next time they hit the area.
Mama Kin is still home...
