I have all my stubs and stuff inside a frame, so I cannot have scans of JUST the stubs and passes and the pick... But here's the final version of the frame, as it is now. I've had the pleasure of seeing KISS six times, and each time was better than the last! These guys put on THE greatest show you'll ever see. I've seen them twice on the Reunion Tour, and my first Reunion Tour show was my first concert ever. It was July 16th, 1996... I went golfing with my oldest brother (hey, I wanted to see KISS!!!! IT WAS WORTH IT!) and we then went to the Nutter Center we went!
He got tickets from a scalper outside. The original price was two tickets for $100 each! My brother talked him down to $100 for both VERY easily, though. I had the time of my life at the Dayton Reunion Tour show. And by the time the second concert rolled around, my brother had found a connection. He had a friend on the PGA Tour (my brother was a proffessional caddy until a few years ago) who knew DOC McGEE!!!! KISS's MANAGER!!!! He got us GOOD free tickets and backstage passes for the show on August 8th, 1996!! After the show I thought I was finally gonna meet my heroes... But they had left soon after the show. I had missed them THAT time...
But as you can see from the poorly scanned page of my Psycho Circus Tourbook, I FINALLY MET THE BAND ON DECEMBER 9th, 1998, In LEXINGTON, KENTUCKY!!! Well.. I met Gene and Paul. Ace and Peter "dicked the whole mob of 10 people." (quoted from my brother as he's retelling what happened to a friend of his) Seeing Gene Simmons face-to-face was a REAL treat for me. THE MAN IS ENORMOUS!!!!!!!!! When I approached him with my tourbook and a capped ballpoint pen, I asked him if he could sign it, and he took the book and the pen. He then gave me a look and smile that said "how do you expect me to sign this with the cap still on."
I quicly uncapped the pen for him and he smiled as he signed it. I got to shake his hand and say hello and the like... It was a dream come true. I then met THE man... Paul Stanley. He came out of the room Gene did not too long after Gene. He was very nice and verypolite and all that good stuff. I sheepishly walked up to him and asked if he could sign my tourbook. He did so with a big smile on his face. The reason I think this meeting was so short was because he had to attend to the ladies. I did see him sign a chick's breast. He saw me looking and laughed a bit. While my brother, his friends and I were making our way to our vehicle, we saw the girl whose breast was signed and my brother said to her, "you've corrupted my little brother." She basically said it had to be done sooner or later. And what's cool about the whole this is I GOT TO SEE KISS TWO NIGHTS LATER ON THE 11th!!!!! My second show at the Nutter Center in Dayton, OH, my brother was able to score tickets and passes for himself, our cousin, and her kids (Scott and Jeanette, who are both my age). We all thought the show was most excellent. We didn't stay after the show, thoguh. My brother had to go down to Cincicnatti for work the next day, and my cousin wasn't the one driving, so we all had to go home. I GOT A PICK, THOUGH!!!!! :) A little more than a year and a half or so go by, and the Farewell Tour comes to the area... Or the not so close area. The closest date was going to be in Louisville, Kentucky on April 29th, 2000... With no Dayton show in the foreseeable future. Well, my brother tried to get his connection to get tickets again... To no avail... But we had driven from Cincinatti to Louisville, which is a fairly long drive, and we weren't about to turn back. So we went lookin' for a scalper. We found a guy whose relatives owned a box and they got extra seats in front of it, so he was selling them out front AT FACE VALUE... MY brother and I bought 'em from him and I went in and watchd the end of Ted Nugent's set. He was okay. Seeing him once was enough for me. Saw the flaming arrow trick... That's all I needed to see. Anyway, after that, I went to see if I could find someone I was supposed to meet at a pizza place before the show with a bunch of other peeps from the internet. I actually found her and we got a picture taken... Once I get it, I'll post it on the site. While I was looking for her, I met up with TOMMY THAYER!!! Tommy is KISS's tour manager and stuff. He's like the 5th member. But I talked with him for a few minutes before I told him I was looking for someone. He was a REALLY nice guy. Anyway, the show absolutely kicked ass. I was about 20 yards away from the stage at most. It was absolutely awesome.
You can go home right now... If ya want...
