This page really needs no explanation for hardcore rally fans. Henri was the darling of the British rally fans, having won the RAC twice, in 1980 and 1985. This is just a "small" tribute to a driver with a big heart.
Henri Toivonen holds the record for being the youngest winner of a World Championship Rally. He won the RAC Rally at 24 years of age in 1980. He won it again in 1985, and won the hearts of the British rally fans. That was the last occasion he competed in the UK.
Henri lost his life in an accident on the Tour de Corse in 1986, when his Lancia plunged down a ravine and exploded. His co-driver, Sergio Cresto also lost his life in the accident.
I've always been a bit of a rallying nut, but this is the only driver - apart from Colin McRae, who has really made me sit up and look - well, half the time, I ended up not looking.... Some style of driving.... *wow*
