Jammer Lovin'

"Going early was a good idea," Summer said as she rested her head on Jamie's shoulder. "Get away from everything for a little bit, and then tonight when everyoen else gets up here we can aprty with them."

"Yeah," Jamie agreed. "I just couldn't stay in town and everywhere I go have to listen to everyone tell me how sorry they were about my dad. It was either get out of town or lock my self in my room with my headphones blaring," he said. "Thanks for coming with me."

"Anytime."

They fell into a comfortable silence, just driving. It was when they turned off the mai road and onto the smaller one that led to the lake that they ran into trouble. Jamie took a turn a little fast and Summer sat up straighter. "Jamie! Slow down!"

"I'm trying!" Jamie replied, pushing the brake pedal. He panicked for a minute, then remembered some of the defensive driving techniques hsi dad had taught him last fall. He took his foot completely off the gas and pulled the emergency brake, which started slowing down the truck. The truck slowed, but only slightly. Jamie kept tapping the brake pedal, and the truck kept slowing down, but it was still going to fast. A they neared the Bowne cabin, Jamie pressed allt eh way down on the brake pedal. "Hodl on!" he told Summer as he spun the wheel to try and keep from slamming into the cabin. He missed hitting it head on, but the side pf the truck scraped against the cabin and the couple was thrown around as the truck almsot tipped over. Finally it stopped and Jamie and Summer sat in silence for a minute. "Are you okay?" Jamie finally asked Summer.

Summer nodded. "Yeah," she said shakily. "What about you?"

"I think so," Jamie replied.

Summer slowly turned and looked at Jamie andgasped whens he saw blood running down the sid eof his face. "You're bleeding," she said, frantically undoing he seatbelt and scooting closer to Jamie so she could check is head. The cut was deep, but it was long and was bleeding a lot. "Come on, let's get inside and clean it before it gets infected, okay?" she said.

Jamie nodded and undid his seatbelt. He slid out of the truck, butthe moment hsi feet touched the ground he snak do to his knees. "Oh God," he whispered.

"Jamie?" Summer said, scrambling out of the truck behind him. "Are you okay? What's wrong?"

"We coudl have... like my dad..."

Summer understood instantly and hugged Jamie. "I know."

"I thought...I thought we were gonna hit the cabin... or go right into the lake..."

"Well, I'ma good swimmer if we had," Summer said, trying to lighten the mood. "Come on, let's go inside, okay?"

Jamie nodded and got to his feet, swaying slightly and clutching his head as a wave of pain washed over him. "I think I need to lay down," he said.

Jamie laid on one of the bed in the cabin, his shirt off, as Summer carefully placed a large square of gauze over the cut and used some medical tape to secure it. "There, all done," Summer said.

"And my chest didn't get wet," Jamie said with a smile, pushing himself up on his elbows. "You jsut wanted to see me without my shirt."

Summer laughed and set the first aid supplies back in the nightstand. "Maybe."

"Mhmm," Jamie said, grinning. "Well, you know, I really appreciated you kissing my forehead better."

"You're welcome."

"But you, know, I think I may have banged my lips against hte steering wheel," Jamie said jokingly.

"Oh, well, we cna't have those lips nto getting better," Summer replied leaning down to kiss Jamie.

Jamie laid back down and wrapped his arms around Summer, pulling her down with him. He put one hand against the back of Summer's head, and the other on her lower back, rubbing slow circles. "I lvoe you," Jamie whispered when the kiss ended.

"I love you too," Summer replied, her hands splayed on Jamie's chest.

Jamie cupped Summer's face in his hand. "I'm so sorry."

"For what?" Summer asked, sitting up and shifting so she was straddling Jamie. "You didn't do anything."

"You could ahve been hurt, or killed, Summer. In my truck, while I was driving."

Summer understood then, remembering Jamie's guilt of Mike's death. "Oh Jamie," she said, leaning down again to kiss him. "It wasn't your fault. There was something wrong with the truck. I know you would enver delibrately put me in danger."

"But..." Jamie started.

Summer silenced him with another kiss. "You. Did. Nothing. Wrong," Summer repeated when she finally stopped kissing him. "Nothing."

"What did I do to deserve you," Jamie asked, running his hand through Summer's hair. "Bueatiful, smart, sweet, and apparently you like me a little," he said.

"Like you a little?" Summer echoed. "I love you alot, James Daniel Bowen."

"Ooh... When you say it, I like the sound of my fullname," Jamie replied with a smirk.

Summer laughed and kissed Jamie again. She felt his hand spulling her shirt out of her shorts and then pulling it up. "Jamie?"

"I love you," Jamie repeated.

Summer sat up and pulled her shirt off, leaving only her tiny bikini top covering her chest. She let the moment, the emotions, take over as she undid the button on her shorts and slid them down, gettign off Jamie for a moment to completely remove them. Then she got back on top of him and kissed him again, one hand in his hair and one on hsi chest as she felt his hands on her back, undoing her top. She moved her hands to Jamie's trunks and pushed them down as she felt Jamie's hands moving tot he bikini tie that was behind her neck. She sat up again, looking down at Jamie for a minute before slowly moving her hands up and untying the strap. She lowered the top, and waited for Jamie to do something, say something.

"Summer," Jamie whispered, resting his hands on her waist. "I love you."

Summer smiled and started to lean down again, only to squeal in surprise when Jamie rolled over so that she was on the bed with him over her. She pulled Jmaie's head down and kissed him hungrily. She protested when he pulled back, only to smile when she realized it was to remove his trunks and to untie the strings on the sides of her bikini bottoms.

Jamie faltered for a minute after he untied the second string, doubt coming over him. He wanted to be with Summer. He needed to be with her, but he was also scared of being with her.

Sumemr saw the fear and doubt on Jamie's face and put a hand against his stomach. "I want you," she whispered gently, her voice filled with lust, desire, and above all else love.

Jamie smiled again and pulled Summer's bottoms off. He looked her over for a moment, then bent back down over he and kissed her lips, slowly edging his kiss to her neck, then to her collar bone. "I need you," he whispered.

"Make love to me, Jamie," Summer said. "Please.. I want... I want you..."

Jamie raised his head to kiss her lips again and felt one of her legs wrap around his legs.

Lying here with you,
Listening to the rain,
Smiling just to see, The smile upon your face,
These are the moments, I thank God that I'm alive,
These are the moments, I'll remember all my life,
I found all I've waited for,
And I could not ask for more.
Looking in your eyes,
Seeing all I need,
Everything you are, Is everything to me,
These are the moments, I know heaven must exist,
These are the moments, I know all I need is this,
I have all I've waited for,
And I could not ask for more.

It was later when they woke up, Summer's head on Jamie's chest and one of her arms draped over him, while Jamie's arms were wrapped around her. Summer woke first and turned her head to look at Jamie's peaceful face. SHe couldn't help smiling, and gently kissed him. "Wake up, sleeping handsome," she whispered.

Jamie did, almsot as if he heard her order, and smiled at her. "Hey," he said, brushing his fingers along her cheek. All of a sudden his smile fell, replaced bya look of horror. "Oh god."

'What's wrong?" Summer asked, sitting up, worried.

"Summer, we...we didn't... we didn't use protectiong... and..." Jamie stammered.

Realization hit Summer and she swallowed. "Oh no."

"What have I done?" Jamie said, instantly blaming himself.

"It wasn't just you, last name, Jamie," Summer said, biting her lip. "I... I wanted to make love to you. I wanted to be with you. asked you. it's my fault too."

"But I should have..."

"What? Turne doff your hormones and mine?" Summer interrupted. "It's okay, we don't even know if you have anything. All your tests have been negative, you tested negative just yesterday."

"Yeah, but..."

"But nothing," Summer said. "I love you, only you, Jamie. You are the only person I ever want to be with for the rest of my life. And if... if you're... sick, and I get sick, we'll be sick together. Evne if you got sick and I didn't, i woudl never leave you, Jamie."

"We were so stupid," Jamie said.

"No, we just forgot."

"But I didn't. When I hesitated, it was because I thought of... him, and what he did to me. I was scared I wans't god enough for you."

"You're more than good enough," Summer said.

"I wanted to erase it, Summer. I wanted to... I wanted to have your touch be the one I always feel on me. I wanted... I wanted to forget about him. I used you to trya nd forget and now..."

"It's not your fault anymroe than it's mine," Summer said, starting to cry. "And I don't mind erasing hsi touch, Jamie. I wish I coudl erase it all. I wish I could go back and erase that monster from existance so he wouldn't hav ehrut you. I want you to feel me, to remember what we did. Not what he felt like, not what he did."

Jamie sat up and pulled Summer against him, his own tears falling into her hair. "I wish... I wish you could ahve been my first, Summer. But he took that..."

Summer pulled back. "I am," she said, putting her hand agaisnt his cheek. "What that...what he did doesn't count. It wasn't... we made love, Jamie. We love eachother and what we did was out of love. What he did... that wasn't even worthy of being called sex. It was horrible, and disgusting, and cruel. But it doesn't count, Jamie. He was not your first."

Jamie leaned his forehead agaisnt Summer's. "You were my first," he repeated, needing to hear himself say it.

"Whatever happens, happens. I'm going to be with you.I'm going to hold your hand, kiss you, lvoe you. Whatever and whenever you need. I will be there."

Jamie closed his eyes. "I'm going to hold you to that. I love you, Summer."

"Love you more," Summer said.

Jamie smiled and pulled back to look in her eyes. "Impossible," he whispered.

Summer returned the smile and kissed Jamie lightly on the lips. "We should get dressed. And call for someone to come get us. I really don't think we should get back in the truck."

Jamie nodded. "Yeah, I don't particularly want to get in it again, either."

They pulled apart again and started gathering their clothing from the floor. Summer got on her bikini bottoms and her shorts, but was having a little toruble getting her bikini top tied again.

Jamie smiled from where he sat in his trunks and edged over. He gently took Summer's hands off the ties, and tied them himself. When he finished he kissed her shoulder blade. "Despite it being stupid... it was... amazing," he said softly. " I never... I didn't think it would be like that."

Summer half turned, a curious look on her face. "What did you expect?" she asked with a smile.

"I don't know," Jamie replied, feeling embarrassed. "I mean, you have no idea how guys talk about sex in locker rooms. They make it sound like the only thign to do is sleep with whatever girl is willing..."

"Excuse me?!" Summer said, shocked. "My brother better not be so crass!"

Jamie laughed. "No, Matt usually just rolls his eyes and reminds them of STD's and stuff. And occasionally adds quietly that he wonders if the guys are over compensating for something..."

Summer laughed. "Oh man..."

"Yeah," Jamie replied, girnning. "I didn't really believe the any girl anytime anywhere thing, but... I jsut didn't expect it to be so... amazing."

"I'll take that as a compliment."

"You should, i don't think it woudl ahve ben quiet as good if I'd been by myself..." Jamie joked.
