Art Alexakis was born on April 12, 1962 . He grew up in the lower middle class projects in Culver City, CA with his 3 older sisters and 1 older brother. Art's father walked out on the family when he was just six years old. After that, Art looked to his older brother, George, as a role model. Unfortunately, George was deeply involved with drugs and alcohol, causing Art to start his addiction at a very early age. When Art was 12, George died of a heroin overdose. Shortly thereafter, Art attempted suicide by jumping off a bridge. The only thing that saved his life was him hearing George's voice telling him to live. This gave him the strength to swim to shore where he was rushed to the hospital. In his twenties, Art nearly died from a drug overdose himself, his heart actually stopping. After his near death experience, Art finally decided to quit drugs forever. He now is completely clean of all drugs and doesn't even drink anything caffeinated and tries to stay away from sugar as much as possible. Art later moved to San Francisco where he was in a band called Colorfinger and met girlfriend, Jenny. Colorfinger eventually broke up and Art moved to Portland, Oregon with Jenny had a daughter named Annabella Rose and later married. Art and Jenny divorced in 2000 and Art married ex-model, Stephanie Greig. Art and Stephanie have since relocated to Santa Monica, CA.
