Historical Information

Many ancient times cultures incorporated  mathematics and geometry  into their art and vivid creations, like the pyramids (Egyptians)  and ziggurats (Sumerians).

The tip or point at the top of a pyramid is the intersection place of the lines and planes. The edges of a pyramid are all lines made up of two collinear ( points that have the same line pass through them both) points. ( two points determine a line by definition)  Each face of the pyramid is also plane.( three non- collinear points determine a plane by definition)

This is an example of the structures created in ancient Athens, Greece. The Grecians used their knowledge of parallel lines and perpendicularity to create such fascinating constructions. They did this without the use of modern technology and/or computers.   click here for info on Grecian temples

The pyramids of Ancient Egypt are some of today's most known  architectural artifacts. The Egyptians used their knowledge of points, lines, and plane to build the pyramids as we see them today. They built them without the use of modern day technology and without the help of a computer.
