Do's and Don'ts
1. Martagon lilies are one of the first lilies to show up in the spring.  Because of this they are often frozen, thus it is a good idea to protect the martagons from late freezes in the spring.
2. Martagons should be planted in a location where they will receive filtered sunlight or at the most only an hour or two of sunshine daily.
3. The bulbs should be planted with the top of the bulb four inches below the top of the soil.

4. Martagons take 1 to 2 years to adjust to their new location.  The first year they may:
a. Grow only one or two feet tall and have only a few blooms, or

b. They may start to grow normally and abruptly turn brown and die back, or

c. They may not come out of the ground the first year,
