Bath Full Indicator/Water Level Indicator

What is it ?

Save the Water, it is very precious!!! We always say the above slogan but we seldom follow it, the most common example is the BATH TUB, which we use regularly. If we forget to turn off the taps in time it can lead to wastage of water, and so we would like it to be automated and save water and the water bill.

The circuit shown below is a cheap and a very simple solution to our problem. The indicator presenter here actuates an active buzzer to provide audible warning when a given water level is reached. Since the water sensor and the driver circuit for the buzzer are contained on one PCB, the indicator, together with the 9v battery (optional, we use an adaptor for this or design our own powers supply but the advantage of battery is compactness and thus can be used especially where there is a wiring problem.

The resistor R1 is 470k,R2 is 100k,and R3 is 2k2 ohms. We can use simple buzzer (active piezo-ceramic resonator) or an intermittent type of buzzer. I suggest a PCB directly from Vega kits.

Clap Switch

This is a thing that a lazy person would always enjoy, to turn on anything e.g. light as soon as he enter his room or he has the habit to read at night and simply to turn off the light he has to clap or as a not annoying night lamp which can be turned ON/OFF at a click of a clap. Thus the clap switch can be used from the simplest application to a difficult mission place to turn something ON/OFF.

The diagram below shows a clap switch that can be built on a general purpose PCB or a Vera board, I suggest buying a PCB (or electronic kit) from the VEGA kit, which is quiet, famous in Mumbai electronics people’s world.
