MONTANA

Emigrant Peak 10,921'

I spent the summer of 2001 in Philipsburg, Montana.  Living right next to the Pintler Range of Southwestern Montana, there is tremendous natural beauty.  We lived across the road from a small mountain we called "Huff-Puff" due to its steepness.  The highpoint of Montana (Granite Peak) is a very difficult climb.  I did not attempt Granite Peak, but I look forward to trying.  I climbed a mountain in the Pintler Range called Warren Peak.  You can reach the Pintler Range by traveling down I-90 toward Missoula until you hit Route 1.  Then take Route 1 to rt-38(AKA-skalkaho pass)  Take rt-38 for 9 miles until you get to Moose Lake Road.  Take Moose Lake Road 16 miles to the end of the road, and the trailheads.
I also visited perhaps the most beautiful national park in the United States. GLACIER NATIONAL PARK.  Take a look at some of the photos HERE.

In Montana I worked for a wonderful organization that provides information on public officials and candidates for public office. The organization is called PROJECT VOTE SMART.  I also have some pictures up of my fellow interns and I.  Just click here
