In 1991, YAMud version 2 opened to the public. It was hosted at the University of Guelph, in Ontario, Canada. The university is an agricultural college, sometimes referred to as the "U of Goo" and thus the mud was named Gooland. It flourished for about a year, until I accepted a job in Austria and left the university. The mud was then hosted for a few more years at a few of sites in the US, with the longest stint being in Reno, Nevada.
While in Austria, I re-wrote the mud from level based to skill based and added many new features. This was known as YAMud version 3 and was first hosted in the US under the name Raraavis. It later found it's current home in Australia and has been renamed back to Gooland. It's currently being run in the capable hands of Wizz
