Mitch's World

We were able to visit a couple of bodegas while Carmen was here. Domecq, highly recommended as a must visit, is one of the sherry making bodegas we visited. Beautiful, old grape vines crawl across awnings, providing beauty and shade.

Once inside the bodega we notice a drop in temperature. It's dimmer, dank and musty, but the rows upon rows of stacked barrels are quite a site to behold.

The blackness on the walls is caused by the evaporation of the alcohol.

As we waited to enter another area, Mitch snuck a picture of his mother.

We visited Jerez de la Frontera several times during Carmen's visit often passing this grand, ancient cathedral. This day, we stopped for a photo.

A few hours away, Ronda's bridges draw visitors from all over the world. Here, I've taken a picture of the "new" bridge through the old.

You can't see it from this view, but people and cars traverse the bridge in the distance.

Here we stop for a Kodak moment, the famous bridge of Ronda in the background. Note the Spanish Parador (antiquated building now used for lodging) perched on the cliff to the left of the bridge.
