DAVID J. VAN ARSDALE, 61, of Huntington, died
Saturday, March 19, 2005, in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday,
March 23, 2005, by the Rev. Chris Farrow at
Klingel Carpenter Mortuary. Interment will follow
in Spring Valley Cemetery. David was born October
12, 1943, in Kansas, the son of the late John L.
and Mable E. Swann Van Arsdale. He was a 1961
graduate of Huntington High School and was
retired from Ashland Oil. Survivors include a
daughter, Barclay Riggs and her husband Jamie
of Huntington; a son, Mark Van Arsdale and his
wife Jessica of Huntington; a granddaughter, his
"sunshine," Holley Jae Riggs; one sister, Linda
Van Arsdale of Atlanta, Ga.; and a special friend,
Judy McCormick. In lieu of flowers, memorial
contributions may be made to the Marshall Big
Green Foundation, P.O. Box 1360, Huntington, WV
25715 with reference to Mr. Van Arsdale. The
family will receive friends one hour prior to
the service, 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the
