In memory of Clayton R. Page, III
Dr. Page, a native of West Virginia and a long time resident of South
Louisiana, died on Wednesday, January 9, 2002. He was born to the late
Clayton R. Page, Jr. and Helen Page on July 18, l943 in Austin, Texas.
He was l961 graduate of Stanton Military Academy. He was a l965 graduate
of Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia and received a Ph.D
from the University of Cincinnati in Biological Sciences in l969. Dr
Page's numerous awards, honors and scholarships included a post doctoral
fellowship at UCLA,USA Traineeship, Interamerican Programs Fellowship in
Tropical Medicine, U.S. Asian Cooperative Medical Sciences Program,
Dictionary of International Biography, American Men and Women of Science,
Marquis Who's Who, Personalities of the South, and International Who's
Who in Education.
Dr. Page was a biology professor at Tulane University teaching cellular
molecular biology. Later, as an environmental scientist, he held
positions in remediation with Halliburton, Rollins Environmental Services,
SBP Technologies and Marine Systems for the last twenty years specializing
in treatment and clean up of hazardous wastes worldwide. Clayton Page was
a man of diverse tastes. He loved sports, fine art museums, theatre and
gourmet food. Clayton grew orchids
as a hobby and belonged to the American Orchid Society. He was an avid
traveler in pursuit of business and pleasure, traveling the world both
internationally and domestically. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth
Vise Page, his sister Martha Page, his son Clayton Page IV, June and
Henry Bryant mother and father-in-law, Mark and Cathy Vise, Vicki Vise,
Jon Thelen, brothers and sisters-in-law, Matthew and Lindsey Vise, nephew
and niece.
Memorial services are scheduled for Saturday, January 12 at 10:30 AM at
St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 8833 Goodwood Boulevard. In lieu of flowers,
memorials may be sent to The Salvation Army, 7361 Airline Highway, Baton
Rouge, LA 70805.
