In memory of HELEN ASBURY YEAGER
HELEN ASBURY YEAGER, 84, of Hurricane, W.Va., went to be
with the Lord, Friday, April 20, 2007. She was born in
Boone County, West Virginia, on September 29, 1922, and
was the daughter of the late Roy "Bingham" and Martha
Toney Asbury. Helen was preceded in death by her husband,
Glenn Yeager, and sister Alice Asbury. Mrs. Yeager
graduated from Scott High School in 1941, Marshall
University in 1945 and obtained two Masters degrees from
Marshall. She taught school 34 years in Cabell County
and served as chairman of Huntington High School's
business department for 30 years. She also supervised
numerous student teachers for Marshall University for
28 years. Mrs. Yeager was a member of Central Christian
Church, Alpha Kappa Delta, Cabell County Classroom
Teachers, West Virginia Education Association of Retired
School Employees. She is survived by her loving son and
daughter-in-law, Glen and Anita Yeager of Scott Depot,
W.Va. Grandchildren Glenn Yeager II and wife Jessica of
Hurricane, Dr. Anita Yeager Smith and her husband Dr.
Jason P. Smith Sr., of Hurricane, and Elizabeth Ellen
Yeager of Scott Depot. Great-grandchild Jason Patrick
Smith Jr. and expecting twin great-grandchildren; Special
companion Mr. George Reynolds of Hurricane. The funeral
service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 24, 2007,
at Chapman Funeral Home, Hurricane. Burial will be in
Winfield Cemetery, Winfield, W.Va. The family will receive
friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. In
lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be
made to Central Christian Church for the Stained Glass
Restoration Fund 1202 5th Ave., Huntington, WV 25701.
