• Must have  a 2.0 GPA or higher.
  • Physicals forms will be on file in the Athletic Dept. as required by the Athletic Director.
  • Selling Christmas wreaths is a yearly fundraiser for the team. Each member is required to sell a minimum of three wreaths.
  • All required paperwork must be received by the head equestrian coach by June 1st. Unless prior arrangements have been made through the coaching staff, riders will lose their slot on the team.
  • Rider fees are due by August 15th. There will be NO refunds after that date. Once teams are formed, they cannot be changed.
  • If a rider fails to participate in any meet or should quit the team, further eligibility will be suspended until a final is made by the coaching staff at the end of the season (both schools)
  • I understand that as a member of the team, I must remain at all meets.
  • I am responsible for all transportation to and from both meets and practices for myself and my horse
  • The coach's decisions are FINAL. I may be assigned classes by the coaching staff that are not necessarily in my best discipline. The coaches pick my classes for the good of the team. THIS IS A TEAM SPORT!!!
  • All jumpers must be trained through a qualified trainer.
  • All show clothes will be the responsibility of the rider. Helmets are allowed in western classes in place of a western hat. If you are not sure, please ask ahead of time.
  • All practices, fundraisers and meets are mandatory unless prior arrangements have been made by coaching staff
  • Huntseat riders and gymkana riders need to wear approved SEI helmets. All helmets must have chin straps.
  • I agree to clip all necessary parts on my horse and bath my horse before competition. My horse will attend the meet as if it were going to Nationals. Manes and tails need to be banded or braided based on discipline of participation. Your coach can supply you with a grooming list if needed.
  • Paint and school spirit colors are allowed for gymkana events ONLY!!
  •  5 Shows are mandatory during the show season unless prior arrangements have been made with the coaching staff.
  • All horses must be suitable for competition.
  • All horses must be suitable for the rider. The coach will decided if horses are appropriate mounts for their riders. The coach has the right to refuse an unsafe horse and rider combination.
  • No smoking on practice grounds or  at the meet. NO alcohol is permitted.
  • All school and MIHA rules must be followed. The rules can be found at www.miha.org. Please review them prior to the first meet.
  • Teams will be representing Howell High School - dedication and sportsmanship are a must!
  • All show clothes on loan must be returned in quality condition and clean. Year end Hi-Point Trophies must be returned in a timely manner indicated on signed waiver.
  • Teams will be picked after August 15. The decisions are made by coaching staff.
  • Arrival to the meet at least one hour prior to the Show is mandatory.
