Henderson High School
Home of the Mighty Silver Foxes
Go Silver and Green!

Standing at the corner of Park and Whitehall streets, the sprawling campus of Henderson High School stands. The buildings of its multiple wings fall into a double-horeshoe shape. In between the buildings are beautifuly tended courtyards in which students and faculty can eat, study, read, or just hang out in a peaceful spot.

A large parking lot lays about the dark red brick buildings. it is almost always full of different makes and models of cars, except, of course, on the weekends or when school is out.

Aside from the school stands W.C. Hawkins Stadium, home of the mighty Silver Foxes. The stadium houses the football, soccer, and rugby teams. Beside the stadium is the baseball and softball fields, followed by the tennis courts. Just beyound the tennis courts lies the Olympic sized swimming pools. One is outside, the other inside the giant gym just down from the fields, courts, stadium. Athletics pose a major part of the school's recognition in the community. HHS had been State Champions in football for the last 10 years.

The school has a reputation for excellence, in both sports and academics. The students at Henderson have some of the highest SAT scores in the state of California. In the school's 20 years of exsistance, Henderson has proven itself time and time again as one of California's, and certainly Meridian's, best schools.
