Organizing at HHT
This is a blog dedicated to the union organizing activity at HHT.
Response to the integration meetings
It's time to critique the response to all our questions from the meetings with the VP. I looked at this document and thought to myself: same crap, different day. If the paper was a little softer, then it would have a use. Until then, I will use it as liner for a bird cage. Anyways, I briefly spoke with one of our collegues (I guess we're not co-workers any more since the new directive) about the response. We came up with the same thing: there were not any answers, just canned responses:

The deal with people working on Saturdays is bunk. The problem is that people were told they wouldn't have to work on Saturday after a certain time. It's kind of like being told you don't have to work evenings anymore and can go to an all day schedule. Of course, I'm still required to work 3 nights a week. So much for promises.

Let's move on with the issues of temperature in the call center. Please don't make me laugh. The challenge isn't the size of the call center. The problem is getting JMS off their lazy ass to implement changes in the HVAC. Either that or HHT is just too busy to make a phone call to get someone over to do the work. Maybe HHT is just too cheap to shell out the cash. Think about this and how long it took to change a light bulb in the men's bathroom or check the air conditioner for falling ice. Bombs away! Get real HHT.

Let's talk about quality or quantity. I don't swallow this company really cares for both. Bottom line is money. This is a for-profit company and with the added stockholders, HHT wants to turn a profit. Quality is second nature and is only a priority when it suits the company or when a customer complains.

Morale issues, you say. Yes, we have them. I can give you a very simple answer to this one. Send a Healthways "ax-man or woman" and start cleaning house. Start with management and put in people that are not from HHT. When these clowns get out of making the rules, then things will get much better. Until then, it's the same people in charge messing it up for the rest of us. Incompetent management is like cancer...it just spreads unless you cut it out.

I don't know about you, but I am tired of all the "good things to come". I'm still waiting to see some change. The only thing I can really look forward to is the pizza party. I feel like I'm in elementary school and I made the honor roll. Lame reward. I just want to be shown the money!

Until next time...
