What does it take to get promoted at HHT?

Let's congratulate our newest account manager and trainer. After all, they both deserve their promotions and have worked hard for HHT over the past years. I really wanted to focus on our new account manager. What a fine choice it was and I would like to share the criteria used to pick this winner:

1) Unable to handle pressure
2) Whiner/Crybaby
3) Lashes out at people
4) Ass-kisser

We have four checks on what it takes to be promoted in the company. So, for all you others that applied for the account manager position: too bad. Your education and job history are irrelevant. Your good demeanor and ability to problem-solve doesn't mean a thing. HHT wants clones. Look at the criteria and think how many of the people that have been promoted fit at least 3 of the 4. Way to go! Good job!

The trainer position wasn't too much of a surprise. I suppose if I would bust my back for this company and be a "yes man", then I would be running the show by now. I think what I'm trying to say is there were better choices for each of these positions. The bottom line is that if you are not with HHT, then you are against HHT. Favoritism is how people get promoted and without seniority, then keep on wishing for advancement.

Don't you wish there was something you could do to change this?

Edit: I wanted to add a little something about the lead worker positions vacated by the promotions. Last April, the last lead worker spot was filled. At the time, the supervisor made it clear that only the 9 people that interviewed would be offered future lead worker spots. I was one of them. No, I'm not holding my breath for a spot. It would be interesting to see if the new overlords honor this agreement. My money is they will not. By the way, lead workers are considered supervisors under the NLRA and therefore are not union-eligible. At this time, it's safer to stay where you are for the time being. Unless you want to gamble without union protection.
