Greed vs. Safety or Why HHT Considers Health Advisors to be Sub-human
I hope everyone is safe with the blizzard conditions last night. It took me 1-1/2 hours to get home. Good times, good times...

At least the new regime came to their senses yesterday. I wanted to comment on a couple things with the decision to close HHT. We were told that we could either use PTO or overtime to make up the hours missed. According to Section 6 Subsection 6 of the employee manual: "when emergency conditions result in operations being officially closed prior to or during an employee's shift, the time off from scheduled work will be paid for exempt full-time and reduced full-time employees, and exempt probationary full-time and reduced full-time employees scheduled, providing this emergency closing period does not exceed three consecutive business days". In other words, health advisors WILL NOT be paid for the time off. We are non-exempt employees. For you that came in early for OT, thanks for your donation to make-up the hours already.

I just called the "information hotline" at 10 am to see the status of the call center. All I could say was "horseshit!". You mean to tell me to call every hour on the hour to get an update on the whether or not to show up? Come on, morons. Is the greed more important than the safety of the employees? Evidently, it must be due to the fact IT workers were told to leave at 3 pm yesterday. Health advisors must be on the low end of the totem pole. Of course, we have always been considered cannon fodder. The Zepf Center is closed next door. Harbor Behavioral Care, which is represented by UFCW Local 911, is closed (maybe this has something to do with being union). Why is every sensible organization in the region closed and HHT is thinking about being open? They don't care about your welfare. Never have. Never will.

Also, what was the discussion on Monday about adopting a "snow policy"? How long has this call center been in Toledo? Does it snow in Toledo? Then logic dictates you should already have a "snow policy" in place. But logic isn't high on the list of skills that HHT is looking in it's management. Why are all these things taking place now? Does it take HHT's hand being forced by Healthways to make them change? HHT will never change it's "shit on you" attitude because the same clowns run the show.
