The Joshua Potts Foundation is a permanent component fund of The Stark Community Foundation. It was established in June 1999 by Jill and Larry Potts, in loving memory of their 10 year old son, Joshua. Josh suffered with a rare brain tumor known as a Hypothalamic Hamartoma (HH). In June 1999, Joshua underwent surgery to remove his HH. Doctors reported the surgery a success, with between 90 and 95 per cent of the tumor removed. However, tragically a short time after his surgery Josh died as a result of complications that occurred during the operation. Jill and Larry now work tirelessly to help other children who suffer from this terrible condition. Joshua has become the Guardian Angel for the HH Group. His spirit lives on in this Foundation. The Foundation's goals include funding for research, medical treatment and education for the debilitating ailments associated with Hypothalamic Hamartoma. If you would like more information about the Foundation, or if you would like to make a donation to help children with HH, please contact: The Joshua Potts Foundation
