This past year has been one of miraculous healing for nine-year-old Marissa Miller. Dr. Jeffrey Rosenfield and the wonderful team of doctors at the Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne, Australia, removed Marissa's hypothalamic hamartoma in May of 2001. Marissa is now completely seizure-free after suffering with up to fifteen seizures a day.
She is an active, bright little girl who loves to cook, paint, play softball, and participate in Girl Scout outings. Her learning disabilities are no longer present and she is keeping up well with her class.
Her family thanks God every day for members of this support group who encouraged them to seek treatment in Australia (especially the Faulkner family of Adelaide, from whom we learned of this treatment) and for the brilliant doctors who gave Marissa a new life.
