The Higher Institute of Business Administration (HIBA) was created by the law N° 40 on the 23rd of June 2001, as the first autonomous specialised university in Syria, linked to the Minister of Higher Education.

The overall objective of HIBA is to contribute to the further development of the Syrian economy by providing a qualified workforce to the public and private sectors. This should enable enterprises to adapt to the economic progress by promoting state-of-the-art management education and training.

Admission to HIBA is contingent to passing successfully an Admission Test, administered annually in August, covering general information and business topics .

HIBA training programs are at the frontier of current development in business and management sciences. Coursework has been developed with a special focus on improving students' skill in Languages, Information Technology and Business Communication.
