Strengths: Ryuu's got the speed, power, and intelligence on the battle field. Although he isn't really evil, he is an opportunist and will take advantage of any opening his opponents leave to strike. He holds nothing back in a battle, using his very powerful and potentially fatal attacks without mercy on his foes if he considers them to be enough of a threat. Most of his special moves are powerful enough to take out a martial artist on the level of Ranma in a single hit, as they have done before in his battles.

Weaknesses: Ryuu and his martial arts style are very straight forward and agressive, leaving him with little room for adaptability. Once he's used his most powerful attacks, although they are very powerful indeed, he has nothing to fall back on if they've been countered. Also, due to his agressive nature, he isn't always the most cool-headed in a fight, prone to getting frustrated if he can't directly confront his enemy, as he did when Ranma fought him using the Umisenken.

Weapons: Although Ryuu only uses it for one of his moves, he carries a rope with him which he can use to wrap around and immobilize his enemies during a fight, but for the most part he's a bare handed martial artist.

Special Moves:

Moko Kaimon Ha (fierce tiger crashing through gates): Right after shouting "Don't move!" very loudly, which usually causes his opponents to panic and stand still, Ryü strikes at his enemy, throwing both arms in a curving motion away from him (a bit like roughly pushing through two doors) and kicks him at the same time.

Dokuja Tanketsu Sho (poison snake deep hole blow): Ryuu strikes his opponent in the heart with a spear hand technique.  Genma says this is capable of tearing someone's heart out, and even if it doesn't, the move puts the victim in a great deal of pain, more than likely incapacitating them.

Kinshi Kinbakusho (gold cord tight binding soar): Ryuu ties his opponent up in some rope, immobilizing their arms, which leaves them wide open and stationary for his attacks, helpful if they no longer fall for his shouting trick.

Geimon Tetsu Sen Shi (welcome gates fan fingers): A spear hand technique strike to the stomach

Kijin Raishu Dan (Demon God Assault Bomb): Ryuu throws chi-blades formed by pulling his hands away so fast is forms a vacuum. These chi attacks are very focused, sharp, and powerful, able to cut through trees, stone, Buddha statues, etc. with ease.

Kaichu Hoju Satsu(in-the-pocket round hug death): Ryuu catches his opponent in a bear hug and crushes them. Because of his tremendous strength, this attack is devastating if his opponent is caught in it for too long.
