Street Fighter vs. Ranma 1/2

The Setting:

The bell rang and the students burst from Miss Hinako's class like a tidal wave.

"You shouldn't run like that!" Miss Hinako cried out. "Only delinquents run in the halls." She reached for her 50 yen coin, but the whole class caught the action. The floods stopped and the students moved as snails.

"What a long day!" Akane sighed to herself as she exited the school grounds. "Ranma wasn't here today either. How long is he going to be out training with Happosai?" Akane thought it was odd how concerned she was over that... jerk...

"It'd be hard for anyone to deal with being alone with Happosai...that's all" Akane said out loud just to convince herself.

"One should never find one's self in utter solitude. To reflect one's own virtues one must be able to appreciate them in another. And who better to appreciate, Akane Tendo, than I, the Blue Thunder." Kuno was suddenly in front of Akane, flowers in hand. "If we were alone together, you would know full well of my prowess as I already know it too well."

Akane simply bowed her head in aggravation. She did not need this today (not that there ever was a day she wanted to be bothered by Kuno)

"Kuno... why don't you get it through your..."

Akane's words were drowned out as Kodachi ran by them both, drowning out all sounds with her sobbing. She seemed soaked to the bone.

"You were saying?" Kuno piped in after she had passed.

"Kuno! Wasn't that your sister?" Akane was shocked.

"My sister? I didn't notice... I was entranced on your every word. So tell me more of what you think of me." Kuno's eyes glittered.

"Kuno! Something happened to your sister! Don't you think you should check on her??" Akane pointed in the direction Kodachi ran to.

"So caring! So noble! Oh Akane... I would..." Kuno's words stopped as he crashed to the ground. Behind the fallen kendo champ was a girl in a school uniform. She smiled a happy smile at Akane as if they were old friends.

"So you're Akane Tendo." The girl beamed. "I've heard a lot about you. My name is Sakura and I challenge you. I really hope you live up to your reputation."

Sakura took a fighting stance.

"WHAT IS WITH TODAY!?!" Akane cried to an uncaring world.

Commentary:

Lord Zudar

This battle is sooooo hard for me to pick a winner. Sakura has a lot more in the moves department (and she's a tough fighter. Akane, however has that "never say die" attitude. I think Akane is going to win this by the skin of her teeth...and that Sakura could just as easily win this. Maybe Akane has the "home turf" advantage too.

Mercedes

As much as I like Akane, I'm afraid that Sakura is the obvious winner of this fight. One, Sakura has a heck of a lot more personal experiance in fighting than Akane. Two, Sakura takes the Art a lot more seriously than Akane, thus her practicing  constantly. Three, Sakura has a bunch of special moves to call on if the going gets tough. All in all, Sakura is the better fighter of the two, by far.

This is a tough one, but I think that this one will go to Sakura. While Akane trains on a regular basis, she does not train like Sakura. Even though neither are on the A-list of fighters, and Akane can regularly beat the crap out of Ranma with her hammers and such, Sakura has so much more fighting experience, and has the edge in chi attacks. This one goes to Sakura.

Jarvis

Although Sakura's got some phat moves, I'm staying true to my Akane.  Even though she doesn't have an extensive arsenal of moves, she refuses to quit until she is either victorious or is knocked out cold. That kind of attitude, along with her short fuse, which is already dwindling down with all the crap she had to put up with, will eventually get set off, which can only spell the end of Sakura.

The Fight:

Sakura was shifting back and forth in her fighting stance, waiting for Akane to follow suit. Akane was still a bit baffled.

"Come on! What're you waiting for? Let's fight!!" Sakura was getting impatient.

"Who are you? Why are you so anxious to pick a fight with me?" Akane kept herself out of obvious striking distance.

"What're you talking about? You're dad runs a dojo! Every fight makes you a better fighter! What are you? Stupid?" Sakura was so annoyed, she almost started the fight early.

"What did you call me!?!" Akane growled, clenching her fists.

"That's more like it!" Sakura readied herself. "I was starting to think you were just some daddy's girl, pretending to be a real fighter."

"I AM A REAL FIGHTER!!" Akane yelled out as she charged in with a raised fist. Sakura was able to leap out of the way as Akane's strike tore through the air wher she had been. Akane did not stop charging, though and her following uppercut caught Sakura in an awkward way. Sakura did a spin kick in reaction which Akanewas able to block, but all it did was seperate the two fighters, which is what Sakura had hoped it would accomplish.

"SHOUOKEN!" Sakura yelled out as she went charging into Akane. Akane tried to block, but her defense was only able to stop some of the massive blow. Akane was lifted into the air by Sakura's strike. She was certainly unnerved by the power of the hits and it took her some real effort to get control of her fall. Akane was able to flip her legs under herself and land close to the wall of the Furinkan courtyard. She noticed that Sakura was already in the air again.

"HADOKEN!" Sakura aimed down at Akane and this imense burst of blue chi-energy came blasting down at Akane.

"What the!" Akane shrieked before she found herself blasted through the wall. Sakura landed close to the wall itself and looked for her opponent.

"That was too easy." Sakura sneered. Suddenly, there was a terrible sound mixed with the sound of shifting rubble. The sound was that of Akane's rage. Akane was a little bruised and there was some smoke coming off her. Her outfit was slightly tattered here and there as well. In her hands was a huge piece of what once was wall.

"NOW YOU'VE DONE IT!" Akane yelled at the top of her lungs. She hurled the chunk of wall at Sakura with the force of her anger. As soon at the piece left her hand, she grabbed another. Akane turned into a wall-chunk hurling machine powered by rage.

"What the hell kind of technique is this!?!" Sakura yelped as she ran to avoid what pieces she could. One bit connected across her shoulder and another hit her side. Dodging that one over there, she was pelted by this one. Sakura weaved as close to Akane as she she dared and prepared her next attack.

"SHUNPUKYAKU!!" Sakura went up into the air and spun, kick after kick, toward her foe. Her spinning kicks knocked away the flying bits of debris, but much to Sakura's shock, the spin was stopped forcebly. Akane had simply reached out and grabbed her spinning leg.

"You want to see a technique!?!" Akane screamed. She hurled Sakura into the remaining pile of rubble, then lifted her arm and brought it down again, striking the rubble with Sakura again. Sakura, on her third rise into the air, spun in Akane's grasp and landed a kick right into her face. Akane let go of Sakura's leg as she stumbled back. Sakura was not going to give Akane a chance to recover.

"HARU ICHIBAN!!" Sakura squated down and spun into the dazed Akane, hitting her with kick after kick. Akane had the wind knocked out of her completely and she crashed to the ground.

Sakura jumped up from her spinning crouch kick and unleashed another blast. "HADOKEN!" Sakura gasped out. The blast hit the fallen Akane, and sent her into unconciousness. Sakura landed near and watched to make sure Akane was down.

"Good grief! She's as strong as Zangief for crying out loud!" Sakura mused as she caught her breath. "Maybe even stronger!" Sakura looked to the heavens. "Another step closer to being as good as you, dear Ryu."

Sakura quickly bowed her head once to her opponent as a salute of respect and then wandered out to the street. It was time to face the next challenge.
