Street Fighter vs. Ranma 1/2

The Setting:

-ASSAULT ON THE TENDO DOJO - PART 1-

Sagat stood outside the building, reading the sign over and over again. It simply read: "Tendo School of Anything-Goes Martial Arts.". It was certainly the correct place, but it seemed hard to believe that this puny edifice housed such a power as Bison had described. Sagat looked over his shoulder to where Vega and Balrog stood. The boxer was going through some warm up moves, ready for the fight that was coming. Vega was merely looking into a mirror, admiring his reflection.

"It's time." Sagat muttered.

Inside the dojo, Soun Tendo and Genma Saotome were engaged in their typical game of go. It seemed an even match at this time, but both were pondering their next move with great concentration.

"Lunch is almost ready, father." Kasumi announced from the kitchen. Her voice the sound of a flight of birds in the morning.

"Thank you Kasumi!" Soun smiled back in the direction of the kitchen.

"Amazing, isn't it Tendo?" Genma mused.

"What is, Saotome?" Soun already knew what Genma was going to say, but he wanted to hear it anyway.

"The boy is out training with the master, Akane is at the fair, there isn't a cloud in the sky and the air is rich with the sweet smell of Kasumi's cooking. It is a perfect day." Genma inhaled the air.

"You said it, Saotome. I feel like a new man already." Soun was filled with an ease he had long since missed.

"Not a care in the world." Genma sighed.

That's when the wall exploded. Soun and Genma could only look up in dumbfounded shock as the huge boxer stepped through the hole he had punched in the wall. He was accompanied by his lean, masked partner.

"Wh-who do you think you are?" Soun stood up quickly, pointing a figure at the pair.

"What does this have to do with Ranma?" Genma said as he stood up.

"You are in our way. Get lost." Balrog waved a gloved hand at the pair. "We're here to claim this dojo and it's master."

"Anyone who defies us will die." Vega hissed.

"Father? Who are these men?" Kasumi said as she appeared with lunch.

"If you don't go now, we'll get her first!" Balrog said, aiming his fist at Kasumi. Soun instantly stood in the line between boxer and his daughter.

"You have gone too far. As head of the Tendo Dojo, I will accept any challenge. However, when you threaten my daughter..." Soun seemed to glow with a battle aura. Genma was instantly at his friend's side.

"You are the ones who will be leaving! I, Genma Saotome will happily show you the way out!"

"Oh...I'm so scared!" Balrog laughed.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! You've got to be kidding me, Genma and Soun verses Bolrag and Vega. Ok lets look at this seriously, Bolrag may hurt them a bit but I bet Genma, or maybe Soun, could take him out, but Vega isn't only a exelent martial artest but a surtived mad man(things I like in most people). No contest sorry.

I'd say the speedy Vega and the powerhouse Balrog would make quick work of poor Soun and Genma. However, one thing in this story changed my mind.  Kasumi was threatened.  Not only does this ignite Soun's chi, but it would ignite any other Ranma 1/2 character's.  Kasumi, sweet, innocent Kasumi would never get hurt in a fight.  Never.  I have a feeling that characters from entirely different mangas would come to her aid.  Beyond that, Genma is probably near the same strength as Balrog, and Balrog can't jump.  I think this will be a squeaky one for the Old-Guy Duo. All that aside, who wants to see the Tendo Dojo fall into M. Bison's hands?

J-ryu

A Psychopath and a Thug versus a Crybaby and a Coward. Normally, I'd list this as one for Vega and Balrog.

However, they threatened Kasumi, which is just like getting God angry at you. Right now I'd rate Gosunkugi and Tsubasa over them...

It looks to me like a tough one to call. I feel, however, that Balrog is the key in this match. If Soun (by dint of beign closer) can beat Balrog, Genma should have no problem with Vega. After all, he should be very good at dodging weapons, especially after his time on the road with Happosai, and later Ranma. Also, don't count out an assist from Kasumi. Yes, I know that she never seems to do much, but I could see her pull a kitchen knife or something. It'll probably be somewhat close, but I've got a feeling that Anything-Goes will beat Shadowloo this time...

MasterManG

I forsee Genma and Soun taking this.  Genma could beat either Vega or Balrog (Balrog being the easier target), while Soun can at least hold his own against Balrog long enough for Genma to finish Vega (although Soun is screwed if he has to fight Vega instead of Genma, cuz' Vega will dice him, and them Genma's got a two-on-one situation).  If that does happen, Genma is going to have to forego his honor (Shouldn't be too much of a stretch, eh?) and use the forbidden techniques of the Umisenken and the Yamasenken.  Either way, Team Nerima wins this one.

Ryoko

I'm sorry to say this, but Genma and Soun can't even beat Happosai.  What makes them think they can beat a guy that makes Mike Tyson look like a sissy and a man that can rip them to shreds.  It'll be a quick fight.

The Fight:

Balrog never knew what happened. Mere words could not describe the true horror that would be unleashed upon the boxer in such a short amount of time. Soun Tendo simply acknowledged his daughter's life had been threatend and launched into action. He launched at Balrog with the sound of an explosion, he moved so quickly, one would have thought there were two Soun Tendo's beating the boxer in every part of his anatomy. Most could only hear the punches and kicks as they landed on the boxer, as the shear glow of Soun's battle aura blazed like a star. Balrog was unconcious long before it was over and his body simply flew back out the hole he had created earlier. Soun pointed at Vega, and spoke with command.

"Did you have something to say?"

There was a long pause. Vega was actually frightened at what he had witnessed, but he also knew the force that had moved Soun was already fading. Genam hadn't moved either... he was awed by the display. He doubted anyone would ever believe it.

Vega finally decided to make his move as it was clear the men had been seriously underestimated. Vega charged at Soun with his claw. Soun was actually worn out from his rage and would not have been able to dodge in time. Fortunately, Genma was as quick as ever and simply had lept into the air, landing his foot in Vega's mask. The mask shattered as Vega flew off course and slammed into the earth near the pond, his claw had flown free from his arm. Soun leapt back, realizing how close to serious injury he had just come. Genma turned to prepare for Vega's next strike. Vega quickly crawled to the pond to see his reflection in the water. He had to know if anything had happened to his precious face. This act of desperation left him wide open.

Genma kicked Vega into the pond and then Soun leapt in, landing a kick on Vega's side, knocking him back out of the pond. Vega regained his feet and was able to blaock Genma's next flying kick. He used the block to land a good punch into Genma's stomach. Genma let out a belch and fell into the pond. Vega was kicked in the side by Soun, who had taken advantage of Vega's concentration on Genma. Vega was hurt by the hit, but he was able to react and he launched into the air, flipping over Soun. Soun tried to react, but before he knew what had happened, he had been grabbed by Vega and flipped into the ground. Vega got ready to strike the downed man, when a giant furry arm smashed him clear across the courtyard.      Mr. Panda helped his friend to his feet and the two faced Vega with new found determination.

"You're fighting skills may be excellent, but you made a mistake challenging us." Soun growled with new found strength.

"Are you going, or are we going to have to get rough?" was written on Genma's sign.

Vega gathered up his claw and locked it into place. He smiled and then began to flip in a wild fashion, moving in for a new attack. He let out a wild hollar as he came closer to the two men.

"Saotome, are you ready?"

"Of course, Tendo." Mr. Panda's sign read.

The two leapt away from each other just as Vega's claw stabbed where they were. Vega was suddenly between the two. Soun landed a kick in Vega's side and Mr. Panda's punch hit Vega's other side. The attack almost stopped Vega's forward motion completely, but Vega collapsed a few feet away from where he was hit. Vega tried to rise to his feet, but he was lifted up by Soun.

"I don't care where you came from, but I think you should go back there!" Soun ran with Vega and hurled him out the same hole.

"Oh father!" Kasumi said with joy, "I'm so proud of you."

Soun was worn out and simply walked back to his place by the go board. Mr. Panda sat on the other side and cleared the pieces off the block.

"Let's call that game a draw." The sign said.

"I think that's a very good idea." Soun smiled.

Kasumi brought in the food and the two friends began a new game.

Genma Saotome and Soun Tendou: 18

Balrog and Vega: 7

I never expected this battle to be so one-sided. I honestly thought it would be a lot closer, but I hope those who voted for Genma and Soun enjoyed this battle. I know I enjoyed writing it.
