When you pay close attention to Vegeta in the show, you realize he goes through alot of changes. We lined them all up with a short description. For now we will only handle the changes through Dragonball Z, I haven't seen GT so I can't really tell you anything about it.
When:
While he is still on his home planet (planet Vegeta/Vejita-sei) with the rest of the Sayians who are still alive.
Looks:
-The royal Sayian armor (with red symbol)

When:
The time when Vegeta was captured by Freeza and they where testing his strength.

When:
A couple of years later Vegeta is on another planet with Nappa when he first hears of the Dragonballs.

After Radditz is defeated Nappa and Vegeta come to earth for the Dragonballs where they have their first encounter with the z-gang.

During his fight with Goku, Vegeta uses a trick he learned from Baradock (Goku's father) to simulate a moon. This helps him to transform.

Shortly after that Vegeta has transformed into an Oozaru, a giant ape like creature with enormous powers.

After the big battle we don't see Vegeta for a long time until he re-appears on Namek in search of the Dragonballs once again, he lost his tail during his fight with Goku.

During the search on Namek Vegeta, Gohan, Krillin and Goku 'team up' and Vegeta provides Gohan and Krillin with Sayian armours, while he is washing his face he ditches the armor.

After washing up Vegeta changed into a newer version of the armor.

Back on earth Vegeta now has two holes in his armor, the bigger one is where Krillin blasted him so that Dende could heal him in order to become stronger and the little round one is where Freeza shot a ki-beam through his heart :(

When they first meet Mirai Trunks, Vegeta wears the famous outfit which Bulma forced him to wear. The pink shirt has the letters 'badman' written on the back.

After Trunks' warning, all the warriors go train, including Vegeta who usues the Gravity Room which Goku used to go to Namek.

Vegeta turns Super Sayian while in outer space in order to defeat the androids when he comes back on Earth.

After training in the hyperbolic time chamber vegeta can go 'super vegeta'. basically the same as super sayian only his hair is more spicked and he grows extremely buff.

I'm not exacly sure when this change happens but I think its when they hear about the World Tournament. There is no clear picture so I'm not sure if he's wearing shoes or socks.

In the Sayiaman saga we briefly see Vegeta while he is training with Trunks, again, there are no clear pictures so I'm not sure.

Right before the World tournament, trunks returns to his time-line and Vegeta says goodbye by giving him a peace sign. There are no clear pictures of this either so I'm not sure.

The World Tournament start and the Z-gang gather to compete, Vegeta got rid of his armor and is carrying a bag with his stuff.
