On August 24, 1815 the estate of Jonathan Hieatt was settled in Jessamine County, Kentucky. Jonathan married Mary Connor in Orange County, Virginia on May 27, 1784. Somemtime in 1794 he moved with his family from Virginia to Franklin County, Kentucky.
As far as I am aware, there are very few records for this Jonathan. His marriage record, census records, and this estate settlement record. A bible owned by Jonathan, according to the account of some of his eldest son Meredith's descendants, apparently still exists.
The text from Jonathan's estate settlement is provided below, as well as a scanned copy of the actual settlement entry. While the entry appears to continue on the next page, this fragment is all that I have. You can download the scanned copy by "right-clicking" on the picture and selecting "Save Image As". Many, many thanks to Wilma Lynch who first provided this copy to me.
