Outfit No. 705 was considered one of the finest model train sets when it was
introduced in 1940 and is still coveted by collectors today. Headed up by the No. 701
Steam Switcher, which is based on actual blueprints for the Pennsylvania Railroad's B6
Steam Switcher, the actual prototype can be seen today at the Railroad Museum of
Pennsylvania in Strasburg, PA. The B6 switchers shuffled back and forth along the maze of
switches and tracks as crews carefully coupled together cars for both freight and
passenger trains. Although those cars were destined to be hauled cross-country by some of
the most powerful locomotives in the world, it was the mighty little switcher that started
them on their journey. This tenth-in-series authentic Lionelâ
Electric Trains detailed miniature die-cast-metal reproduction of the original Lionelâ
model features the original colors and trim, and revolving wheels and axles, can be used
