This is an original 1939 PRR
wall calendar featuring a reproduction of a Grif Teller painting titled "Leaders
of the Fleet of Modernization" and measuring approx.
29" x 28 5/8" and in excellent overall condition scoring a 9+
on a
scale of 1 -
10. This calendar has survived 64+ years thus far! It is a scene consisting of
an S1 streamlined locomotive pulling one Fleet of Modernization while being
passed in the opposite direction by another. It has a complete and well
preserved calendar pad, and the broadside is attached and in pristine condition. The artwork print area is in really
excellent condition with only some barely perceptible vertical creases near the
center. The tuscan red border is virtually
intact with no outstanding perceptible creases or blemishes. The gold border has some
significant creases and blemishes down the right margin only, with finger print smudges near the top right margin. All of
these imperfections are considered minor and will be barely perceptible, especially after professional framing and hanging over your mantle or
on a wall in your den or train room. This particular calendar is in very great demand and hard to find in this condition!
