1953 Pennsylvania Railroad Calendar Original --
"Crossroads of Commerce"
(RI)
This is an original 1953 PRR
wall calendar featuring a reproduction of a Grif Teller painting titled "Crossroads
of Commerce" and measuring approx.
29" x 28 5/8" and in excellent overall condition scoring a 9+
on a
scale of 1 -
10. This calendar has survived 51+ years thus far and is still in great
condition! The calendar view looks across the Ohio River from Weirton, W. Va. to
Steubenville, Oh., a "symbol of the rich inland industrial empire of
America" according to the calendar greeting letter.
The main scene shows an eastbound passenger train meeting a westbound freight. This
particular calendar has a complete and well
preserved calendar pad, and the original broadside is attached
as well. The artwork print area is in virtually perfect condition with no
noticeably perceptible imperfections. The tuscan red border is virtually
intact with virtually no noticeable imperfections. The gold border has some very
minor edge creasing in the margins. All of the imperfections are considered minor and will be barely perceptible, especially after professional framing and hanging over your mantle or
on a wall in your den or train room. This particular calendar is in high demand and hard to find in this condition!
