1908 Boy Scouts founded

1920 'Kibbo Kift, the Woodcraft Kin' founded by John Hargrave

1924 Wheatshead Fellowship walk out of Kibbo Kifn Kin's Althing

1925 February 24th - Leslie Paul opens first Woodcraft Folk group in London; first group camp aided by RACS; ex-Kibbo Kift groups agree Woodcraft Folk Charter and Pioneer declaration

1927 Groups by now in Bournemouth and Leicester; Press Gang begin to publish 'Herald of the Folk' quarterly

1929 First goups in the North in Sheffield

1931 Basil Rawson takes Sheffield Pioneers to camp with German Falcons

1932 Membership reaches 1000

1933 First mass camp at Symonds Yat; First groups in Birmingham

1935 First groups in Brighton

1935 Labour Youngsters announces Labour Party support; ADC indoors at Easter replaces Althings as the annual adult meeting

1936 Loch Lomond camp to support new Scottish groups

1937 International Children's Republic Camp at Brighton includes refugees from Spain, Austria and Germany; Henry Fair hired as first paid National Organiser

1938 Folk House purchased in Tooting; Webley Pageant & Co-operators Day supports Spanish Republic; Children from Czechoslovakia take refuge with Folk families in Britain

1939 International Camp at Liege, Belgium - 700+ Folk members attend less than a month before war breaks out

1940 'House-moots' as halls are unavailable. Evacuation means many groups close in cities; Woodcraft Folk becomes a constituent member of the Central Board for Conscientious Objectors but there are bitter divisions as many Folk go to fight fascism in Europe, Africa and the Far East

1942 Co-op Union severs ties with Folk

1945 At least one group re-opens the day after the war ends

1946 International Camp at Brighton gets mass media coverage; Leaders' Diploma Course set up

1947 Woodcraft Folk instrumental in reforming the International Falcon Movement
