Effective: May 11, 2001 The Highland Park Board has established the following policies pertaining to
play equipment structures on the Homeowners property. These specifications provide detail for the Protective Covenants Article VI, Section 26. Non-play equipment structures are not covered in this document.
- All homeowners wishing to construct play equipment on their property must have submitted an Architectural Review Committee (ARC) request form and received approval before the structure can be assembled.
Submissions shall include picture of structure, sketch of structure on plot plan with dimension from house and lot lines, and overall height of structure. Failure to do so will result in a fine and possible
required modifications by the homeowner to meet policy guidelines
- All structures are to be located behind the back line of the home.
- Structures shall be located such that they have minimum visibility from the street.
- Only wood construction play sets shall be allowed. Specialized equipment constructed of non-wood materials will be considered on a case by case basis by the ARC.
- If desired, play equipment can be coated with clean protective finishes. Stains and /or paint are not permitted.
- Highest point on the play equipment shall not exceed 12 feet from the ground.
- This policy does not apply to play equipment structures in place before May 11, 2001.
