Highlands School District is located about 20 miles northeast
of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, along the Allegheny River. It was formed in 1968 by
the merger of the neighboring districts of Har-Brack and Tarentum, with the
first graduating class in 1969.
The district is comprised of the communities Brackenridge,
Fawn Township, Harrison Township, and Tarentum. Presently there are
approximately 3300 students in the district attending one high school, one
middle school and four elementary schools.
The school colors are brown, gold and white, and the mascot
is the Golden Ram.
