Emphasis is placed on learning basic design skills, engineering principles, manufacturing processes, and quality concepts through hands-on activities. Communication, teamwork, and problem solving are reinforced throughout all the classes. Students also take a Drafting/CAD class to further develop technical skills. In addition, guest speakers and industry related tours are utilized throughout to develop student interest and understanding of career opportunities. During the student’s senior year, a focus area is established to further develop career plans. Work related learning opportunities will reinforce skills and prepare students for further education at the college or university or direct entry into the workforce. |
