I am Shanda and I am 30 years old. My husband is Brad who is also 30. We have one son, Adam, who was born in April of 2000. We have loved most every minute of it!
Anyway, my pregnancy was fairly uneventful. I did have some spotting in the 1st trimester, and then had to have a non-stress test and 4 ultrasounds, but nothing overly concerning.
Labor started with hemoraging. I was bleeding heavily for hours! finally, after he was born, they discovered that my placenta was starting to separate, but everything was ok.
The first day, after he was born, Adam stayed awake for 8 hours! He did not sleep, he did not pee, all he wanted to do was nurse. This lasted for 2 days. I thought that was normal until I talked to other friends.
Since then, Adam has always been a nurser. He still nurses 7-8 times a day (at 8.5 mo!).
I thought I had it easy when he came home. Things were going pretty well. Then Adam discovered he could scream, and scream he does. He doesn't like to sleep. And when he is up he is always on the go. he is into everything. I spend most of my day chasing him around.
He is very attached to me. A lot of the time, he only wants to be with me and will scream if anyone else, dh included takes him. Therefore, i am up most nights with him. We have tried to change that, but Adam is adamant!
The biggest thing I notice about Adam when he is around low needs kiddos his age is that he is overly touchy, borderline aggressive. He wants to grab, hit, etc. Even though I know he isn't doing anything to be mean. he doesn't like to be held, except on HIS terms. In fact, he doesn't want anything except on his terms!!!
Anyway, that is a little (haha) about us! I could go on for days and days! Thanks for being here and answering questions of a first time mom! It is so good to know that I am not alone!!
