ASCC Club Solo II #2 Leon's parking lot June 10th, 2001 |
Ahh, club slaloms. One of my favorite things. It's a good thing the nice people at Leon's don't mind us tearing around their parking lot. If it wasn't for them we'd have nowhere to play. It's a small lot but the course designers (Glen W. I think) always seem to to make it fun. This was by far the fastest slalom we've had here with a good straight to the finish where some cars were capable of 80 plus kph. That might not sound fast but in the tight confines of that lot it is. The car seemed to work much better this weekend than Moncton, thanks to the dry pavement. And we were invovled in a close battle for FTD had it not been for those pesky cones. The best time was only .01 faster than ours but more importantly it was clean. Once again, thanks to the breaking down of classes, we brought home the FSP title (only car). This new method is not something I like but I don't worry myself over it. My main goal will most likely be an FTD somewhere in the near future. There should be some stiff competition though, from Dave English in his Corvette, Brian Gay in a loaner BMW M3 (todays FTD), Glenn MacDonald in his 2.5rs, and Brian Jarvis in his BMW 320 if he ever gets out, among others. The best thing of all about slaloms? Gail Brown's chocolate chip cookies. After every event, a big bag of the best home made cookies ever. Thanks Gail! Take a few minutes and check out the content. There's tons of pictures and movies, along with great articles. |
