The river being "up and dangerous" on Wednesday did not concern me. Rivers can rise and fall quickly. Up can mean only a few feet and any river is dangerous. A creek that is a raging torrent and puts water above the hood of my suburban and a river 200 yards across with large amounts of debris is a concern. I would have preferred being informed of this more specifically and given the opportunity to reschedule. I trusted that upon being encouraged to come, it would be suitable for my family by the time we got there. Don't get me wrong, we improvised and had the best time possible. But in the future I would hope more clear detail of the situation be given. If we hadn't been in our suburban, we would never have gotten in on Thursday.

I'm sorry the weather didn't fit your plans, and can understand your kids' dissapointment. Looking back over our email correspondence, I didn't see that you wanted to cancel the reservation. Sorry if I misunderstood you.
I hope we will see you again
Jeff

While we came and had a fairly good time, I would have rather rescheduled. The kids were quite dissappointed that they could not go to the river. If we had not had the SUV, making it to the house on Thursday would have been impossible. Next time I would appreciate due consideration. We were coming to enjoy the river.

The house is quite a distance from the river, and is not in any danger. But the river is up, and should be considered dangerous. You might check the river after you get in and see what you think.
See you tomorrow!

We have reservations at the Country Quiet on the Pedernales river for
Thursday and Friday night. I am hearing allot about flooding. Is getting
to the b&b or the river going to be a problem? Will the river be too
dangerous for my young children to be around?
Thanks
