Remember, folks, the Plotting Board is for Plotting
Sorry for the lack of information on the information page. Keep the posts up, and nothing else to say, except that Chemukh has quit (NOOOOOOOO!!!) and I am back.

January 16 (?), 2005-Sarah

Well, everything appears to be running smoothly except a disagreement about which dog breeds sould be joined, but we've solved it and soon we'll be running on a system with a list of breeds always accepted and a list with a limit per week on them. Otherwise, everything is going wonderfully. We've got active players and fairly long posts, and humans, there are plenty of dogs up for adoption at the kennel. I'm working on an information page--it's not done yet, but the link is up, as is the PB (plotting board) made generously by Senny, if you didn't see it before. We've two new sister sites, Rock wood Acres and Chikara. So I guess everything is going well! [P.S. The Character List is done, but please check over it, as I was uncertain to some genders and breeds. Let me know what I got wrong. Thank you!]

January 12, 2005-Senuura

Well,I updated the members list for Lizzy(Our newest member) and Lullaby, that wasn't all that hard.I would also like to point out that;New members, why don't you post on the OOC board to meet some people?Lets all welcome the Plotting board!Currently a Plot Submission on the PB (Plotting Board) everyone who is currently in a plot will need to post there, plots are no longer discussed in the OOC board...
It would be great to see a few more wolves as said below...only about another 5 or so,dogs are also in short supply!Remember to only join sledding dogs (Hybrids,Malamutes,Huskies) and to describe thier backs, legs, personality, general appearance and all very well.
Otherwise,I'm happy to see out members posting longer...

I am lazy, and Senny brought up a very good point on the joining board, so I will quote her. (Or you could always go to the OOC board)

"We are need of a few more dogs and humans, perhaps a few more wolves (About 5?)

And just a reminder, humans may adopt wolves, and dogs may be wild or stray.

I would also like to see an increase in correct grammar, spelling and much more detailed descriptions. You cannot describe a dogs or humans personality with four words.

This will not cut it –

OOC – Blah

OOC Contacts – blah_blah_example@yahoo.com

Character Name – Shadow

Species – Dog

Breed – Husky

Gender – Male

Personality – Playful, intelligent, dominant and loves to run

Coat/Markings – Black and white, looks just like a perfect husky

Description – Long back and legs, pricked ears. Shadow has big paws and muscley shoulders.

History –

Shadow was born to a black mother and white mother and was kindly raised as a puppy. He was than trained to run in a sled and became very happy and was than sent to the kennel when his humans got a new dog that he hated.

Sample Post –

Shadow walkd into the yard, his feet hitting the ground hard as he walkd in. He looked back at the house where his humans watched him, he didn’t like going out alone…in fact he couldn’t stand it. he wanted 2 run away from here. Beginning to run, he leapt over the high fence and landed perfectly, than ran off into the darkness…neva 2 be seen again.

What’s wrong with the post?

1st. What kind of Husky? Alaskan or Siberian? There are specific sizes and all for each breed.

2nd. Four words for his personality? Does he love humans or resent them? How dominant is he? Alpha material or just aggressive to the bone and what does he love to run for? Humans, himself…what? WE need this way more descriptive… 3rd. Check the reservation list and members list before naming your dog, that way we won’t have to tell you that the name has been taken already. Doesn’t mean spell it differently or put a word infront of it but allow them to answer to ‘Shadow’ or ‘Kiba’.

4th. Black and white…deep ebony or pale black? Perfect markings, how do you define perfect here? Each dog has different markings, there are just guidelines for markings, does he have a thin blaze? This will need to be detailed and precise sop we know what you’re on about.

5th. The description does not describe anything much. Does he have large, erect ears painted with white? Broad shoulders packed with muscle? Make it so we can visualize the dog…

6th. History is meant to tell more of his past, not just what happened and skipping out any injuries. Perhaps he hated the dog for obvious reasons such as attention or looks, did he ever damage himself that lead to issues with his leg or something? This gives a general outline of the type of dog, an aggressive dog will most likely have a painful history or perhaps they born that way…tell us.

7th. I cannot explain this anymore! Correct spelling, grammar and punctuation need to be improved…I am sick of reading short, empty Samples with no meaning. Have a story line not just some words put together. I have seen beautiful sample posts and have been disgraced by the short posts with no punctuation, grammar or correct spelling.

To all council members (owners);

I will not be accepting anyone who’s joining post does not appeal to me. I will decline them, and if you think they are good enough, you may accept them…but I am missing descent posts. I do not care how many people are thinking;

“That’s harsh”

Or

“Get a grip, it’s only a game”

It might be a game, but I would prefer to read a post with meaning and describing issues rather than 12 words or so."

Also, posts seem to be getting a bit slack. For an example of a nice post, see this [Poison-Cry Ridge] or this [Jesse, at SCRC]. Plenty more are around Hike, but I've also seen: "The ebon' dog walked down the street, looking for food. She found a bagel and ate it." Big no-no! So remember, keep up the post quality!

Activity check still running on OOC board!Yay, well, anyways, I think all is going well, and a big welcome to all our new members, Peache, Nicoletta, Chemukh, and Via! Sennura (aka Senny-Wenny) will not be on today, but when she gets back we will think of plots that everybody can be included in and post them on the plot board. Not much else important to say, but I hope that everybody is enjoying the new version!

January 6, 2005-Sarah

Let me remind old members and just-joined members once again that you must reply to the activity check! [click] Anyways, I think that everything is running smoothly and Bravo and I advertised a little and Bravo might get us a sister site. *cheers* In case it wasn't clear in the rules, The Inn, where all cabinless humans need to go, is on Main Street. So just click the mainstreet category and then there will be a link. Also, a friendly reminder to everybody to keep the length ans spelling/grammar level of your posts up to the standard. One-liners make me cry. Thank you, all!
