Ch. 3

Dum dee dum dee DUUUUUUUUUUUUM! What shall happen now? Hmmmmm...

"Do I know you?" Trowa asked, cocking his head to one side.
"Yeah, where in the same class, and I live on the same street as
you." I sniffed and rubbed my nose with the back of my hand.
"Here." Trowa pulled a handkerchief out of his pocket and handed it
to me.
"Thanks."
After blowing my nose and calming down a little, I managed to mumble
to Trowa that I had a fight with Relena.
"Oh, you’re Relena’s friend! I knew I’ve seen you from some where."
"Huh?"
"Heero"s a really good friend of mine, I’ve seen you hanging out with
her a few times before."
"Yeah."
I shivered again and hugged my arms around me, I always hated my gym
uniform, and to have Trowa see me in it was well, humiliating.
"Cold?" He asked, smiling at me.
"Yep!" I squeaked, as his arm went around my shoulders.
"Better?"
Heck yeah I’m better! Hot guy putting his arm around me, that ALWAYS
makes the room temperature go up a few degrees.
"What did you say your name was again?"
The smile that was starting to form on my chin disappeared and I
reminded myself that he barely KNEW me.
"Hilde. Hilde Schbeiker." I rasped, blushing.
"That’s a nice name." He said.
Yay! He likes my name!
The magic of the moment was broken as Middi Une turned the corner,
with a group of her giggling girl squad.
Her face looked shocked and hurt for a minuet, but it hardened as she
continued to walk past me.
"Hey Trowa, I see you hang out with just about anyone huh?" she said,
smirking.
"Same goes for you Middi." He replied, eyes and voice cold.
Her face went red and she marched off, stepping on my foot in the
process.
"See you later HILDE." She said, glaring over her shoulder.
I cringed.
Shit man! I had just made an enemy out of one of the most popular
girls at school!

Last hour came and went, and I dreaded going out to meet Duo. Thanks
to Relena, Trowa probably thought I was taken.
I walked toward my locker and saw Duo standing there, a pink
carnation in his hands.
"Hey," he said, handing me the flower, "how was your day?"
I smiled half-heartedly and accepted the flower (after all they ARE
my favorite!) before shoving my books in my locker.
"Shitty." I said.
"That good huh?"
I glared at him and he laugh nervously.
"I’m kidding Hilde. I heard you got in a fight with Relena, though."
I stopped my pouting to look up at him.
"Ya did?"
He nodded.
"Heero is my best friend, and I hear all about it when Relena comes
to him crying."
"She was crying?"
"Yes."
I sighed heavily and sniffed at the flower.
"I think you should go talk to her."
I blinked at him, eyes wide.
"No *way*! She’s so mad at me!"
"She was just trying to help you, or me."
"Nani?"
"Oh nothing nothing!" Duo brushed it off and rubbed the back of his
head.
"Look, I’ll make a deal with you ok?"
I nodded at him.
"If you go talk to Relena now, I’ll take you out to get any kind of
ice cream sundae you want."
"HONTI?"
He smiled at me and guided me outside to a tree, where I saw Heero
and my ex-best friend waiting.
"Hey." She said softly.
I just nodded at her.
"Come on Heero, come help me fix my bike please."
"Huh? But Duo, you don’t have a-"
Duo grabbed Heero’s wrist and dragged him off, leaving the trader and
me alone.
"Hilde, I’m sorry."
"You should be." I snubbed her, crossing my arms.
"You just don’t understand something."
I glared at her.
"I’m not a stupid child you know! And I might understand if you would
just TALK to me!"
"I can’t ok?"
"Well the hell not?!"
"Because, Duo-"
"What does Duo have to do with anything?"
"HE LIKES YOU OK?!?!"
Relena slapped her hand over her mouth.
"What?" I asked, taken aback.
"You heard me," she mumbled, "Duo likes you. He has for a really long
time, but you where so caught up in liking Trowa you didn’t even
notice him."
I placed my hands on my hips and looked down at the ground, kicking
it a few times.
"Really?"
"Yeah, that’s why he bought you that flower, that’s why he made you
and I talk, that’s why he skipped last period to go home to take his
Dad’s motorcycle-DAMNIT! I just CAN’T keep my mouth shut today."
"Duo, likes me?"
Relena nodded.
"That’s why you told me to get a hint right?"
She nodded again.
Well ain’t that a kick in the head? Duo Maxwell has a crush on me and
here I was the whole time complaining that Trowa doesn’t notice me,
when I didn’t notice Duo.
Kami-sama, you have a quite a few tricks up your sleeves.
"So what are you going to do about it?" Relena asked.
I smiled at Relena.
"Whatever comes to me first. Thank you for telling me."
"No problem. You didn’t hear it from me though, right?"
"Hear what from you?"
She smiled at me and gave me a hug.
"All better now?" Duo asked, announcing his presence.
"Yep," I said, walking up to him, "and Duo?"
"Yeah?"
"It’s nice to know you like me."
And with that, I bent him backwards and kissed him.

AHHHHHHHH! Isn’t that a great ending to the 3rd chapter?
