HILLEL AIMS TO:
  • Provice education opportunities for all children with LD in Israel
  • Increase awareness of LD among parents, educators, policymakers and legislative and judicial bodies
  • Ensure assessment of LD as early as possible
  • Encourage a multidisciplinary approach involving the educational, psychological, physiological and medical fields
  • Ensure continued follow-up with periodic re-evaluations
  • Ensure the rights of all youngsters from nursery school age up to and including university and the army


SERVICES TO OUR MEMBERS:

  • A Lecture Series with monthly lectures on subjects of specific interest to parents of L.D. children in many locations throughout Israel.
  • Monthly Newsbytes - updating our members on current issues and events.
  • Our bulletin, "HILLELON," covers current developments in the L.D. field in Israel and abroad, provides members with important information and offers a forum for both professional and layman exchange.
  • Seminar for Teachers - In-Service Training for school teachers recognized by the Ministry of Education (Gimul Histalmut Credit)
  • Regular parent support group under the guidance of trained counselors.
  • A "hotline" telephone service for parents.
  • A reference library that offers parents an opportunity to borrow reading material.
  • A Tutor Referral Service to aid parents in finding the appropriate out-of-school help for their child.
