(8) Hillside Hornets (8-4) at (1) West Craven Eagles (11-1)

PLAYOFF PAST
Hillside won last week in its first playoff game since ’93. West Craven lost to Parkland in ’01 third round.
FIRST ROUND
Hillside scored twice in fourth quarter to rally past (9) Aycock 21-14. Marquize Martin had two INTs and rushed for 2 TDs. West Craven had a tough time with (16) Beddingfield, 28-20. Raymond Cox rushed for three TDs.
THE SKINNY
The Hornets’ passing game can be explosive but will face the toughest defense they have seen this season. Hillside QB Jason Mitchell has passed for 1,466 yards and 16 TDs. West Craven held ECU-bound QB Pierre Parker to 3 of 10 passing for 38 yards last week. The Eagles have posted four shutouts. West Craven has gone 23-3 over the last two seasons, and Coach Clay Jordan has 198 career wins at the school.
