Frank A Traxler

Frank A, born July 10, 1894, married Mrs Arthur Leach, who in maiden life was Lillian Dolezal, and he and his wife reside in St Paul, MN. They have one child, La Vern, born Sept 27, 1922. Frank A Traxler enlisted for service in the World War, Aug 4, 1917, training at Camp Douglas until Sept 16; was thus sent to Camp McArthur at Waco, Texas, arriving there Sept 19,and there trained until Feb 2, 1918; thence went to Camp Merritt, N.J., remaining there until Feb 14, or the day they sailed; landing in Brest, March 1; thence went to to Percy De La Petet, and was there transferred to Company C, 28th U.S. Infantry, going into the trenches on the Toul Section March 23. His regiment was relieved April 5 by the 102nd infantry; and was then transferred to the Cantigny Sector where he saw intense shell fire; was relieved from the front July 10, and after 5 days rest was sent to Sissons front and was there wounded July 19, 1918. After spending several months in French hospitals, he returned to the United States and was discharged Jan 31, 1920.

Obituary from Newspaper;
Pearl E. Traxler, 76, 1202 10th St., Menomonie, died May1 at the Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.
Funeral services were May 4 at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church with Rev. Pieter Reid officiating.
Burial was in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
Pearl E. Halpin was born July 3, 1905, in the town of Sand Creek, Dunn County. She married Edward Traxler January 22, 1930, in Menomonie. He preceded her in death Sept.28, 1965.
Survivors include a son, Gordon, Rt. 6, Menomonie; a daughter, Joann (Mrs Jerome Schmitz, Clayton; her sister, Lois Sandvig, Menomonie; seven grandchildren and one great grand daughter.
The Stanton Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
